Higashi-Hennazaki, located at the easternmost point of Miyakojima, is designated as one of Japan’s 100 best
‘historic sites, places of scenic beauty and natural monuments’. It is a beautiful cape made of uplifted
coral limestone that juts out into the emerald green sea for 2 kilometers. You can enjoy a superb panoramic
ocean view of Miyakojima with an unobstructed view of almost 360 degrees. In addition, it is covered year
round with the prefecture’s natural floral monument, “Ten-no-ume”, native plants translated as ‘sky plums’.
It is also a highlight in early spring to see Easter Lillies in full bloom.
